The main Spanish airlines have begun to notify travel agencies of the reactivation of their direct operations with Venezuela. Iberia, Air Europa and Plus Ultra They plan to resume their non-stop routes between Madrid and Caracas starting next first of februaryending two months of interruptions.

This reactivation marks the end of the suspension that began last December 1, when the companies decided to interrupt their services following the recommendation of the United States government to avoid Venezuelan airspace for security reasons.

International reactivation schedule

According to data provided by the agency Candes ToursVenezuela’s international connectivity map is progressively normalizing during the month of January:

  • Route to Spain: Iberia, Air Europa and Plus Ultra restart direct flights on first of february.
  • Copa Airlines: It resumed the Maracaibo-Panama route on January 5 and plans to reactivate flights to and from Caracas this January 13.
  • Stellar: It already operates flights to Panama (since January 5) and Madrid, although it currently does so with a technical stopover in Barbados.
  • Venezuelan Aviation and Rutaca: They resumed their international operations on January 5.

Normalization of domestic flights

On the domestic front, connectivity within Venezuela is already operational. From the January 5the main local airlines have restored their usual itineraries:

  • Laser Airlines
  • Avior
  • Conviasa
  • Turpial Airlines

The tourism sector welcomes these dates with optimism, after weeks of uncertainty that forced thousands of passengers to look for alternative routes through third countries or long stopovers in the Caribbean.
