One person died and around 40 were injured when a metal structure set up at the Aeropark Clube de Voo Desportivo, in Regente Feijó, in the interior of São Paulo, fell with strong wind gusts of approximately 95 km/h that hit the state.
The place, at Rodovia Raposo Tavares, 555 (SP-270), km 555, hosted a party for medical students.
A 47-year-old man was hit by a tree branch and suffered head trauma. He was rescued, but did not survive his injuries.
Civil defense teams from Presidente Prudente and Regente Feijó, in addition to the São Paulo state fire department, helped around 40 victims, as reported by the teams that were at the scene.
They were all taken to the Regional Hospital and Santa Casa de Presidente Prudente. Of the victims treated, three remain hospitalized, and the rest had minor injuries and were released after treatment.
Through their social networks, the graduation committee that promoted the event and the company Euphoria, hired to organize it, said that the intense winds hit the structure installed at the site, resulting in the accident. Both expressed their regret and said that they have been helping the victims and their families since the moment of the accident.
