To celebrate women’s month, institutions from the Secretariat of Culture and Creative Economy of the State of São Paulo prepared special programs, including a course for creating comics (comics), artistic workshops, female literary criticism, poetry recitation, entrepreneurship and debates on leadership. In São Paulo, the Parque Villa-Lobos Library promotes today (10), from 2 pm to 5 pm, the workshop Illustrate with Brushes, a meeting in which participants will learn about sumi ink (from vegetable soot) and learn how to use this technique. At Casa Guilherme de Almeida, an in-person visit will focus on the life of Belkiss Barroso do Amaral, better known as Baby. She was the first person to take part in the musealization process of the house where the poet Guilherme de Almeida lived. The visit will be on the 12th, from 2 pm to 3 pm.

At the São Paulo Library, the course Women and Comics provokes reflection on women’s rights and gender equity. Aimed at participants of any gender identity, the comics course brings basic production and script techniques, from draft to colorization. As a practical exercise, participants will create a comic book telling the story of an inspiring, empowered woman who walked the path of female emancipation and who inspires new generations to fight for their rights. People aged 14 and over can participate. Registration can be made from 02/17, and the course will take place on March 18 and 25, from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm.

On the 11th, at 4 pm, Casa das Rosas hosts the soirée Say it, woman!. Divided into two moments – the first with presentations by guest artists and the second with an open microphone for anyone who wants to recite poems by female authors. On the 18th, at 5 pm, Slam das Minas de São Paulo promotes a spoken poetry contest with female and trans authors. The “battle” will be in three rounds, two of general competition between participants and the last one of finalists only.

At the Portuguese Language Museum, the protagonism of women is the highlight with the soirée Sharp Tongue and Platform Connections, on the 18th and 24th, still no set time. At the Football Museum, the Fair Ilê-Ifé de Afroempreendedores holds on the 11th, from 10 am to 5 pm, a special edition with women entrepreneurs, in the external area of ​​the Football Museum. Exhibitors will present fashion, culinary, handicraft products and other independent creations. A samba group formed only by women animates the programming.

At Paço das Artes, the exhibition WE – Art & Science by women brings the trajectory of women in the production of knowledge, from the ancestral wisdom of witches and healers to the presence of women in scientific institutions today. At the Museum of Favelas, the Black Entrepreneurs workshop promotes, on the 25th, a meeting in the week dedicated to commemorating International Women’s Day.

At the Museum of Indigenous Cultures, on the 23rd from 10am to 4pm, there will be a conversation circle The paths of protagonism, proposing a reflection on the presence of indigenous women, their daily role, their places, their fronts – in health, art, education, politics, among others. The day will still have Breeze Flow, the political and artistic experience in the flag-making workshop, with an intervention in the MCI building. Then a visit to the museum and its exhibitions.

At the Museum of Sexual Diversity, the series of videos will be shown Womanities, which will bring different forms of intersectionality. Women will tell stories and talk about gender roles, self-identification and whatever else they find important. The project began on the 8th. At the Juan Serrano Cultural Workshop, there will be artistic training for the production of necklaces, based on the language and techniques of contemporary handcrafted jewelry, using materials such as knitted yarn, cotton, trimmings, buttons, small objects . The necklaces produced can be taken home free of charge. Entries must be made by the 13th and the workshops will take place from the 15th to the 29th, from 2:30 pm to 5:00 pm.

The Alfredo Volpi Cultural Workshop brings, on the 18th, at 2 pm, the soirée and book launch crossingswith accessibility in pounds and being displayed in live on the social media of the @procuromulheresquesonhamfuturo project. With a picnic, the event includes the free distribution of copies of the book crossings and a soirée with women aged over 30, who will be able to present unpublished works as an incentive to those who still want to start an artistic career.

At Fábrica de Cultura Brasilândia, on the 24th, at 2 pm, there will be a reflection based on the book Freedom is a constant struggle, by Angela Davis, about March 8, the struggle of black women, what space was allocated to them in this historical period and the importance of thinking about black feminism and the specificities of what it means to be a black woman. At the Capão Redondo Culture Factory, the Festival affirms woman, with Coletivo Samba Rock Nato, intends to spread and promote this culture through dance, and a ball with specific songs of this musical style. It will be on the 26th, from 2 pm to 6 pm.
