The City of São Paulo announced on Wednesday (29) that will replace the companies Transwolff and Upbus at the concession of bus lines in the capital. Companies Operate since April last year under interventionmanaged by the Municipal company SPTrans, after a police operation decree the arrest of 18 directors of the two companies for alleged involvement with organized crime and money laundering.
In the police operation, which was called the end of the line, directors of the two companies were arrested on suspicion of connection with the criminal faction First Command of the Capital (CCP).
The lines granted to companies serve about 650,000 passengers per day and the two companies received R $ 800 million from the City Hall in 2023.
The Municipality has not set a deadline for the complete replacement of companies, but states that it will continue to serve the population.
