Bus passengers in the capital of São Paulo now have another way to pay fares in public buses. To use the new modality, the user must download the Cittamobi app and keep the smartphone’s Bluetooth activated. Ticket validation occurs by approaching your cell phone, with the application open, directly on the validating equipment, installed on 2,200 buses operating on 296 lines.
Buses that accept the new modality are identified with a sticker on the outside of the boarding gate. Through the app, it will be possible to purchase individual tickets or travel packages (daily, weekly and monthly) with payment via Pix. However, this form of payment does not entitle you to integration between buses and rail transport vehicles.
“The implementation of technology on bus lines also proposes to reduce boarding time, avoid the need to handle cash and provide greater convenience for both passengers and transport operators”, highlighted the city hall, in a note. The complete list of lines that have the new system can be found at SPTrans website.
