Banco do Povo, a microcredit program run by the government of São Paulo, is offering a line of credit to companies in São Paulo that were negative during the covid-19 pandemic. In total, R$ 100 million is available.
The new line, called Nome Limpo, aims to help companies affected by the restrictions generated by the covid-19 pandemic.
The benefit must be used to pay off debts of the business itself that were contracted after the beginning of the covid-19 pandemic, that is, from March 2020. Entrepreneurs can request credit from R$ 100 to R$ 5 thousand reais, with up to 180 days to start paying the 1st installment, and 24 months to settle the credit.
“Following the impacts of the pandemic on our economy, we understand that many entrepreneurs had a dirty name for not being able to pay small debts, essential for their business. Nome Limpo was created to meet this demand”, highlighted the executive secretary of the State Secretariat for Economic Development, Marina Bragante.
To apply for the credit line, interested parties must go to the Banco do Povo unit in the municipality where the company’s CNPJ is registered. The credit will be granted to legal entities qualified as MEI (Individual Microeemprendedor), ME (Micro Company), Eireli (Individual Limited Liability Company) or LTDA (Limited Company).
In the capital of São Paulo, Banco do Povo is located at Rua Boa Vista, 170, in Sé.
