The São Paulo Civil Police released the results of an operation against money laundering from drug trafficking and possible infiltration of criminals into public office. Launched on Tuesday (6), Operation Decurio targeted a network linked to a member of a criminal faction, arrested in the city of Itaquaquecetuba, in greater São Paulo, from which they tracked the other members.
She acted as a communication link between prisoners and criminals at large and was responsible for sending letters within the organization, according to the police.
A note from the Public Security Department of the State of São Paulo informs that 20 temporary arrest warrants and 60 search and seizure warrants were served – some still ongoing. Thirteen people were arrested. The operation covered 15 cities in the state of São Paulo and involved 400 police officers.

In addition to a money laundering scheme, action was identified to infiltrate the gang into at least one city hall, with the participation of a public servant and potential candidates for positions in the municipal elections.
The investigation led to the alleged blocking of R$8 billion from the accounts of those investigated and is being processed under judicial secrecy.
The Court of Justice of São Paulo and the Security Secretariat did not comment or confirm the identities of those involved.
