The National Council for Sovereignty and Peace held a public consultation dedicated to the Law of Palestine and Humanity, as well as the Law Repealing the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court, with the participation of representatives of the Public Powers, specialists in legal matters and sectors of Popular Power.
Various national authorities, academics and social actors joined the meeting with the purpose of strengthening the legislative work of the National Assembly. The activity took place in an environment of institutional analysis, where arguments were presented aimed at consolidating the defense of Venezuelan sovereignty and the Palestinian people.
The deputy and second vice president of the Permanent Commission on Foreign Policy, Sovereignty and Peace, Roy Daza, presented the bill to Parliament, highlighting its scope in international politics. His intervention opened the debate on the foundations of the proposal and the relevance of its discussion in the legislative body.
Academics such as Professor Pablo Fernández also participated in the space, who addressed legal aspects linked to the protection of sovereignty and peace, and professor, communicator and human rights defender, Olga Álvarez, who presented considerations on the importance of guaranteeing national self-determination against attempts at interference.
The public consultation was also attended by the first vice president of the National Assembly, Pedro Infante, the second vice president América Pérez and other authorities, who supported the deliberation process. The meeting reaffirmed the institutional commitment to the construction of a legal framework that reinforces the independence and peace of the Republic through the laws.
