The United States Southern Command reported that this Thursday, February 5, it carried out a “lethal kinetic” attack against a vessel in the Eastern Pacific. The operation was under the direction of Commander General Francis L. Donovan, as detailed through the official account on the X social network.
The publication shows the attack carried out by the Joint Task Force Southern Spear against a ship that, according to the US report, was operated by “designated terrorist organizations” allegedly involved in drug trafficking activities.

As a result of this event, two people who were on board the boat were killed, according to the report released.
It should be noted that since August 2025, the United States has maintained the largest military deployment in the waters of the Caribbean and the Pacific, with a sustained presence of naval and air assets. Initially, Washington justified this operational increase under the argument of combating drug trafficking, directly pointing out the Venezuelan Government for contributing to this crime, without presenting evidence to support said accusation.
