I recently toured several towns in the south, in the company of my brothers Pedro and Alberto, where we appreciate the natural beauty and charm of that area, which has tourism in development, thanks to works carried out by the Government in different points.
Our first look was at Azua, with its horseshoe-shaped plain, adjoining the Ocoa Bay, surrounded by mountains of the Cordillera Central, which make it a visual dream walk.
If you want to know more about the history and culture of Azua, you can sit in the Duarte Park, where children, youth and adults of this city usually recreate. In its varied gastronomy, coconut is the ingredient that gives a special flavor to stewed goat and fried fish.
Upon arrival in Barahona, we were greeted by its beautiful boardwalk, surrounded by businesses and hotels, which house the hundreds of tourists who visit this point in that province called the Pearl of the South, for its resemblance to that precious jewel.
Later on, the turquoise waters of the Caribbean Sea awaited us, adorning the entire road that pleasantly surprised us when we arrived at the Los Patos and San Rafael resorts, where the song masterfully composed by maestro Rafael Solano resounds: “San Rafael, passing through Paraíso, where everyone falls in love with this country”.
The blue tone of the waters of the Sea, reflected by the intensity of the burning Sun and the blue clouds, which in infinity reflect a “sapphire kiss on sapphire”, with the complicit gaze of the mountains, becomes more intense as that we are approaching our final point, as was Pedernales.
In the town of Pedernales, without going to Bahía de Las Águilas, we discovered the freshness for its oppressive heat, on its beach of fine white sand located next to its boardwalk, which exceeded all our expectations.
The long drive to the point where the boat is taken to go to the Bahía de Las Águilas beach, due to the difficulty of the road, is compensated by the beautiful view presented on the way through the water, where we observe finely carved stones. by the sculptor of nature, among other fantasies drawn in the environment.
