Most cases of monkey pox in Florida they are concentrated in the south of the state, particularly in Miami-Dade and Broward counties, according to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

South Florida is the area most affected by monkeypox in the so-called Sunshine State, accumulating 73% of cases. In particular, the counties of Broward and Miami-Dade add 129 and 71 infected respectively.
Contrary to what happened during the hard times of the COVID-19 pandemic, neither airports nor ports have implemented traveler control measures to mitigate the entry of the disease.
“Symptoms of monkeypox include fever, headache, muscle aches, fatigue, chills, swollen lymph nodes, rashes on the face, inside the mouth, and on other parts of the body such as the hands, feet, genitals, or the year”, recalled a local newspaper.
“The CDC warns that symptoms can appear two weeks after infection and recommends that those with symptoms see a doctor,” he added.
If someone suspects they are infected, they should avoid close contact, including intimate contact, with other people until a doctor determines whether or not they are sick. The same should be done by people who are waiting for the results of the tests, according to the CDC.
The federal agency also warns that, if the test result is positive, the patient must remain isolated “until the rash has healed, the skin scabs have fallen off and a new layer of intact skin is formed.”
