The events contradict the official version of the protests, which according to the authorities of Gibara were nothing more than peaceful claims of citizens tired of the blackouts.
The protests in the municipality began after the fall of the night, when dozens of neighbors threw themselves to the street shouting “put the current, pinga”, “Díaz-Canel, Singao” or slogans as “the united people will never be defeated.”
