The day of farewell to the souls began with little influx to the country’s cemeteries. Although media from different cities reported that more visits were detected in the early hours of the morning, with the aim of avoiding crowds.
In La Paz, those who went to the General Cemetery found a communal table where traditional offerings were placed. The photographs are of public officials who lost their lives this year due to Covid-19 and other diseases.
Graveyards are not easily entered. Municipal governments installed security measures, both to protect spaces and people and to ensure that biosecurity measures are met.
Necessary measures, as it was verified this morning when the police officers assigned to the general cemetery arrested criminals. According to a report by Unitel, six people were arrested who tried to steal objects that were inside the vehicles parked in the vicinity of the necropolis.
150 police officers were assigned to the Government Headquarters. Among its instructions is to prevent the entry of people in a state of drunkenness, with pets and those who do not carry their vaccination card. Citizens are also asked to come wearing a chinstrap, to maintain social distance and to have alcohol.
The cemetery will be open until 4:30 p.m. At that time the doors will close
