Sotheby’s to auction Schumacher’s Ferrari

Sotheby's to auction Schumacher's Ferrari

The auction house Sotheby’s announced this Friday that the Ferrari F2003GA Chasis 229 with which Michael Schumacher won his sixth and penultimate Formula One title, in 2003, will be auctioned in Geneva on November 9.

The German driver, who along with Lewis Hamilton is the only one to have won seven titles in the premier category of motorsports, achieved victories in the grand prix of Spain, Austria, Canada, Italy and the USA with that vehicle, which allowed him to achieve a championship that had started very discreetly.

Sotheby’s highlights the importance of this vehicle in Schumacher’s career and the history of Formula One, since with it the German driver managed to beat Juan Manuel Fangio in world titles for the first time, a record that the Argentine driver, with five, held for nearly half a century.

Schumacher disputed nine races with the single-seater that will be auctioned, the only one with which the German achieved five victories, highlighted the auction house of British origin. EFE
