The União Brasil candidate for the Presidency of the Republic, Soraya Thronicke, said today (13) in São Paulo that, if elected, she intends to exempt teachers from paying the Income Tax, as a “first attitude” to value the category.
In defending a tax reform, she highlighted the replacement of the Tax Recovery Program (Refis) aimed at companies with commitments aimed at creating new jobs, among the points of her government program.
“Until 1964, teachers did not pay income tax. That’s where we’ll start: teacher will no longer pay income tax in the country. This will be the first attitude we will take to value teachers, both from public and private schools”, said the candidate.
Soraya also spoke about the focus of an eventual government aimed at creating jobs: “[em relação às] companies with active debt, instead of making Refis and going to court [a questão] after starting to pay the debt, we will exchange active debt for the generation of new jobs”.
Asked about another point of her economic program, the federal single tax, the candidate said that support from the Legislature will be necessary and that, for that, it will be necessary to “elect deputies to vote with us”.
On social media, the candidate praised the Federal Supreme Court for the inauguration of a woman in the Presidency of the court, in this case Minister Rosa Weber.
