The Union Brasil candidate for the presidency of the Republic, Soraya Thronicke, defended today (19) the modernization and greater integration of the National Health Surveillance Agency (Anvisa) with the Ministry of Health. According to the candidate, the action aims to guarantee more investments for the agency.
Anvisa is an autarchy under a special regime, linked to the Ministry of Health, and has administrative independence, stability of its directors and financial autonomy.
“Modernizing Anvisa and bringing the agency into the Ministry of Health is one of my priorities,” said the candidate at a meeting with representatives of the Pharmaceutical Products Industry Union (Sindusfarma), in São Paulo. “[A Anvisa] it needs to receive investments, have more manpower and modernize”, he added.
The presidential candidate for União Brasil also said, at the meeting, that she intends to bring together private initiative in solutions for the health sector and reiterated the importance of tax simplification and the review of taxes on medicines.
In addition to the meeting with representatives of Sindusfarma, the candidate’s agenda included interviews with the program Pânico, on Jovem Pan, and for TV Folha, and the recording of electoral propaganda.
