An emotional reunion between mother and son moved Cúcuta on November 13, after two decades of separation. Andrés Leonardo and Mrs. María Pacheco lived a moment full of joy, when they were finally able to hug each other again after 20 years without knowing about each other.

Since then, the woman lived in deplorable conditions and wandered the streets without her son knowing her whereabouts, until it finally culminated in this emotional reunion.
The Cúcuta Metropolitan Police witnessed this moving moment. «During our daily patrol, we learned of a citizen who was looking for his mother, who had been missing for 20 years. We heed the citizen’s call, we activated the route and took her to the medical center to restore her rights,” the Police said.

The video, shared by the authorities through their social networks, shows Mrs. María weak, walking with the help of the uniformed officers and a stick, apparently with signs of malnutrition. However, the reunion with their son was the light that illuminated their lives after so many hardships.
