The Andi president also commented on the reduction in the population outside the labor force, which had grown significantly due to the pandemic and quarantines, but which in April 2022 fell by 5.1% compared to the same month of the year. previous, closing at 14.3 million.
Regarding youth unemployment, he expressed his optimism when observing that the employed population between 25 and 28 years old increased by 334,000 people between February and April 2022, compared to the same period in 2021, so that the unemployment rate for this population went from 23.9% to 20%.
“Although double-digit unemployment continues to be alarming for the younger population, the progress in the inclusion of these people, in an increasingly determined manner in the labor market, is very important. In this, the incentives provided by the Government for the hiring of personnel up to 28 years of age have been key, so these initiatives must continue to be promoted”, he pointed out.
