Some 3,500 Mides beneficiaries will access training in job skills

Within the framework of the Accesses program of the Ministry of Social Development (Mides), the National Institute for Employment and Vocational Training (Inefop) will provide four training proposals linked to the digital field and transversal skills. The initiative is part of a biannual agreement to improve the employability of citizens. It will require an investment of 33 million pesos and will be implemented between 2022 and 2023.

The activity, this Monday 26 at the headquarters of the National Youth Institute (INJU), included the participation of the Minister of Social Development, Martín Lema; the general director of Inefop, Pablo Darscht; the director of Territorial Management of Mides, Alejandro Sciarra, and the director of Inefop on behalf of the Ministry of Education and Culture, Guillermo Dutra. National and departmental authorities also attended.

The proposal presented by Inefop promotes the strengthening of digital inclusion and the development of skills for the search and sustainability of employment for members of the Accesses program who, at the same time, are in a situation of vulnerability.

The general director of Inefop, Pablo Darscht, alluded to training as a central component to achieve labor insertion. For this reason, the institute proposes this series of tools aimed at a specific population with the goal of increasing their chances.

On this occasion, he pointed out that four proposals will be implemented. In terms of digital learning, the beneficiaries will know how to use a browser Web, edit texts, and make presentations. With regard to so-called “soft” skills, they will deepen, among others, the development of teamwork, empathy, and punctuality.

Finally, Darscht reported that this project was intended to promote trajectories, for which two levels have been established. Once they graduate from the program, citizens will be able to access the educational offer provided by Inefop.

The national director of Territorial Management of Mides, Alejandro Sciarra, meanwhile, explained that Accesos emphasizes the future employment of people. Its participants will be able to work for seven months in state agencies and receive a social benefit equivalent to a minimum wage. These individuals, then, may also participate in other work experience in private companies with which Mides has already established agreements.

Sciarra added that 2,800 people are part of Accesos after having participated in other programs developed by the ministry, such as Calle, Inju Avanza, and Uruguay Crece Contigo.

In addition, the hierarch clarified that the participants of Accesos will not lose other economic benefits that they receive.
