Some 17 educational units from two areas of La Paz will hold classes on Monday until 10:30 a.m. for a coca march

Due to the mobilization on Monday of coca producers from the Yungas, the fiscal, private and agreement educational units of Villa El Carmen and Villa Fátima, in La Paz, Classes will pass until 10:30, reported this Friday the Departmental Director of EducationCarmelo Lopez.

In addition, he requested, through official notes, police protection for at least 17 schools in the areas where the coca conflict is generated.

The measure was taken in view of the risk that the coca conflict implies for studentswhich in recent weeks was characterized by the explosion of dynamite puppies and the seizure and burning of the coca market building managed by the leadership of Arnold Alanes.

For this Monday, the coca leaf producers led by Freddy Machicado announced that will mobilize in protest against the arrest of their leaderwho is one of the main investigated for the seizure and burning of the Alanes coca sales market, located in Villa El Carmen.

“We have determined to hold classes until 10:30 on days when there are conflicts”, he explained and opened the possibility of resuming the virtual modality in the educational units, if the coca conflict worsens, according to ABI.
