Santo Domingo. – A total of 1,266 retired doctors will benefit from the increase in their pensions, following the promulgation of Decree No. 710-25 by the president Luis Abinader.
According to what was established, doctors who received less than 75,000 pesos will see their pensions increased to that figure, while those who received between 75,000 and 100,000 pesos They will receive 100,000 pesos.
The announcement was made by the president of the Dominican Medical College (CMD), Luis Peña Núñez, who described the measure as “another great achievement for retired doctors.”
This decree represents the beginning of a process that contemplates new increases, since the Pensions Directorate has prepared additional lists with hundreds of doctors who will soon receive salary increases.
Dr. Peña Núñez recalled that this benefit is based on an agreement reached on October 2, between the then president of the CMD, Waldo Ariel Suerothe president of the retired doctors, Mercedes Rodriguezand President Abinader, in the Presidential Palace. This agreement is formally supported in the recitals of Decree 710-25, ensuring its legal validity.
The Dominican Medical College, its president and the National Board of Directors 2025-2027, expressed their gratitude to President Abinader for this gesture in favor of the most needy sector of the union: retired doctors.
