The Encuentro Ciudadano candidate for the opposition primary, Delsa Solorzanoreiterated this Friday, July 14, the importance of articulating a unity between the rest of the candidates and their parties as soon as possible to face Nicolás Maduro in the 2024 presidential elections.
“Anyone who is not clear about the anti-democratic, authoritarian attitude, whoever is not clear that we all need each other to face it, is not making opposition,” Solórzano said at a press conference from the city of San Cristóbal, Táchira state, where he resumed his tour through the interior of the country.
The leader acknowledged that she is “hard” with her words, and reiterated the opinions expressed in the debate on July 12. “Venezuela needs an opposition that is aware of the historical role it has to play (…) United we are better, I reiterate, as I said in the debate, no one can do it alone, unity is understanding that no matter what political party you come from, that we all need each other.”

He also said that his candidacy does not respond to personal interests: “I cannot invite the people to defend me, because the world revolves around me, I am inviting the nation to unite to liberate Venezuela, not for them to defend me.”

He pointed out that, if he wins the primaries, he expects the candidates and their political parties to express their immediate support “because here they will have respect and recognition (…) The best government is the government that recognizes the merits, a unity government, without exclusion, where Let’s understand that we all need each other, our invitation is to unity”.
