Solidarity Student’s Day takes place again “in person” through a reunion that “gives more strength, more energy and is a hug that we owe each other and have been waiting for two years,” he said. Alba Sáenz, founding member of Driving to Conscience, a 16 years of the road tragedy in which Nine students and a teacher from the Buenos Aires Ecos School, in Santa Fe, died.

“Holding the Student Solidarity Day recital again in person for us means enormous joy, being able to meet everyone again, with the musicians, with the volunteers, with the public, with the technicians, with the producers, with the agents of press,” said to Telam Radio Sáenz, who highlighted the work “collectively” of the Association Driving to Conscience.

And he added that “this reunion undoubtedly gives us more strength, more energy and it is a hug that we owe each other and have been waiting for two years now.”

The birth of the organization brings together relatives, friends and survivors of what is known as the Santa Fe Tragedy, which occurred on October 8, 2006 when nine students and a teacher from the Colegio Ecos de Buenos Aires died due to a clash between the micro driven by someone without experience or authorization to do so, and a truck whose driver was drunk.

“We are not talking about an accident because there are those responsible,” said Sáenz, recalling that after the event “immediately we – the closest relatives of the fatal victims – began to work, above all, to question the three powers of the State.”

From this, and “With the work of many other organizations, specialists and politicians, the current law 26,363 was achieved”.

Currently, “we are convinced that really improving the country’s road reality can only be achieved through joint work,” said Sáenz, and requested that “in the same way with the task we do in our solidarity mission, we need the support of companies that allow us to get to the schools with what they need.

This year, the meeting gathered support from UNESCO, Patronage of Buenos Aires, CABA Legislature and the National Institute of Music, and the proceeds will allow food and supplies to be brought to schools and establishments in the towns of Quitilipi, Tres Isletas, Miraflores, General San Martín and Castelli (Paraje Cangaye) in Chaco; Bananal, in Salta; Real de Toros, Palma Sola and Paraje El Bananal, in Jujuy; and Salavina, Lugones and Colonia Dora, in Santiago del Estero.
