With a full house, to the extent that many people were unable to enter the grounds of the famous ex-presidential mansion in the Bosque de Chapultepec, the concert was the reason for a call to participate tomorrow in a car caravan from the neighborhood of Rome to the embassy of Cuba.
There, on Avenida Presidente Masaryk, they will meet and listen to a message from the bond of friendship and love against the United States blockade of Cuba.
Virulo, well known in Mexico, delighted with his creations and sense of humor, and it was a note of joy and enthusiasm among Cuban residents, members of solidarity organizations, unions and students, who sang performances by the singer-songwriter and comedian from the Caribbean island.
For almost two hours the concert took place in that atmosphere of friendship and celebration with Lazo enlivening the meeting. At one point she surprised everyone when he took the stage and, guitar in hand, performed a song of his own.
The acceptance was such that those present, in the midst of a round of applause, asked for another, and the creator of the already international movement Bridges of Love, pleased them for everyone’s enjoyment, and from the lunette the Cuban ambassador Marcos Rodríguez congratulated him.
Olivia Garza, on behalf of the José Martí Association of Cubans Resident in Mexico, thanked Lazo and Virulo for their presence to support friendly groups in the battle against the blockade.
He reiterated the commitment to continue participating, as before, in the caravans of bridges of love that take place every month in numerous capitals on all continents.
For his part, Virulo reiterated that the proceeds from this concert of love and friendship is to contribute to the pediatric sanatoriums in Cuba with medicine and food.
