For Guarderas, the “only unit that met and exceeded” the budget was the Communication Secretariat. He pointed out that this entity “squandered more than 3 million dollars, of which one million was for publicity to rescue the image of the Mayor.”
New Works
Guarderas assured that it will focus its efforts so that in the last quarter of 2022 the Quito Metro. The president of the Republic, Guillermo Lasso, in his speech, supported this work and said that the Government will assume about 150 million to get the underground system up and running as soon as possible.
Garbage collection: The Mayor mentioned that the process for the acquisition of 12 garbage trucks and a mechanical sweeper will begin until next March. $ 3.5 million will be allocated financed with a loan from Development Bank.
Security: He indicated that there is already a Safety Plan that “sets the lines of action that will be developed by the Municipality during the next five years.” In 2022 they will be incorporated 200 control agents Metropolitan and the Municipality will provide 50 motorcycles and other tools to improve control in public space.
Also, he assured that from January they will reintegrate security guards to monitor the parks. Thus, he hopes that athletes and visitors will regain the “confidence lost in the last two years.”
