Soledad Núñez adds support in Alto Paraná with a view to 2023

Soledad Núñez seeks to talk with Chilavert

Last weekend the candidate for the presidency of the Republic, Soledad Núñez, visited the department of Alto Paraná with a view to the construction of her government plan.

He held meetings with volunteers from Ciudad del Este, with independent movements from Hernandarias and Juan León Mallorquín, as well as with the mayor of Minga Guazú.

The presidential candidate for the National Concertation toured the second department last weekend with a view to building her government plan for 2023. Núñez held meetings where she collected various requests and concerns from independent young people.

Firstly, on Friday, May 27, he gave a talk on Leadership in Public Management, in the auditorium of the rectorate of the Universidad Nacional del Este (UNE), at the end of the economist’s week, at the invitation of the university. On the occasion, Soledad shared her experience of her time in the public service in what was then SENAVITAT, highlighting the importance of a head-on fight against corruption in institutions and the promotion of new and good leadership.

Subsequently, he held a meeting with young volunteers from the departmental capital, who, despite the torrential rain that hit much of the country, were present and expressed various local concerns. “I am very happy with the support of all the young people. There is a very restless youth in Ciudad del Este”, said the former minister.

Banish old practices
One of the repeated requests from the volunteers was how to abandon the old patronage and prebendary practices. “How can we break that old practice? During campaign times, the candidates go to the settlements and directly buy votes. The settlements became places of electoral collection”, said one of the participants of the meeting.

In this regard, Sole advocated a reform of social service in the civil service. “The separation of political power from the public function is urgent in the next government,” he said, explaining at the same time that the partisan political influence led to the public function being subject to private interests and ending up as part of the clientelistic dynamic. within the state apparatus.

Independent Support
Likewise, Sole Núñez held a meeting with members of the “Independent Movement of Young Idealists and Sovereigns”, who, together with a dozen other Hernandarias movements, achieved the victory of the mayor of the energy city of Alto Paraná. “We see your figure and it inspires us to do things well for our country. This movement arises from the lack of opportunities in our city. Job opportunities and political participation,” said Luis Sosa, leader of the movement.

Tired of the crumbs
On the other hand, the mayor of the city of Minga Guazú, Diego Ríos, who defeated the Colorado hegemony in said locality, also held a meeting with the candidate, to whom he expressed his
concern about excessive centralization in the management of public affairs. “We give them everything and crumbs come to us,” he said.

On the point, Sole spoke about the need for investment in key cities to strengthen the local economy and the strengthening of connectivity between thriving cities. “Paraguay makes the mistake of not seeing the territorial needs.” “Minga has to stop being a simple dormitory town for the CDE and exploit its commercial qualities and workforce,” she said.

The first municipal president explained that for health procedures or other services, they must go to Asunción where, again, they depend on luck among so many bureaucratic procedures. He also expressed his concern about the apathy of citizens to get involved in politics, a scenario that is taken advantage of by the traditional parties who carry out their old patronage and corrupt practices.

touring the country
The candidate for president of the country for the Coalition has been touring the country gathering support from various independent sectors, as well as from different factions of the traditional parties. Núñez affirmed that she will continue touring the country to listen to the concerns of citizens and thus draw up a plural and participatory government plan. Among the movements that are part of the future coalition are DECIDE of Villa Hayes, Active Citizenship of Encarnación, Democratic Unity of Yhú, Carmeños Unidos of Carmen del Paraná, among others.
