In a maintenance and conservation day carried out in the Archaeological Park of Sacsayhuamán, vegetation was cut in more than nine thousand square meters, with the participation of personnel from the Decentralized Directorate of Culture Cusco with the support of 60 soldiers from the V Mountain Brigade of the Peruvian Army.
In this first day of vegetation cutting, the members of the Peruvian Army participated, who previously received the corresponding training and induction from the leadership and technical team of the Archaeological Park of Sacsayhuamán.
The maintenance, conservation and vegetation cutting work, which will continue until Friday, May 27, were carried out in the sectors of Suchuna – Kiswarkancha and Calispugio. These actions were developed under strict compliance with biosafety protocols.
“In this way, an inter-institutional strategic alliance was achieved thanks to the support of the Commander General of the V Mountain Brigade, Fernando Tasayco, making it possible for the Peruvian Army joins the task of conservation and maintenance of the cultural heritage of the Nation”they pointed out from Culture Cusco.
They also mentioned that this first experience of conservation of the pre-Hispanic heritage will be replicated in other archaeological parks, in this way, it is hoped to raise awareness among the population so that they contribute, as well as the V Mountain Brigade of the Peruvian Army, in these tasks of preserving the cultural legacy.
