In his morning conference, President Andrés Manuel López Obrador left the investigation and resolution of the military commanders detained in the Ayotzinapa case in the hands of the Attorney General’s Office and the Judiciary.
“I am not saying that they are innocent and that they have already been exonerated, they simply were not in the report and the instruction was: if there is evidence about these people who appear in the report, we will act, that was the agreement, because It is an issue that we are handling in a coordinated manner by the Judiciary, the Prosecutor’s Office and the Executive, because it matters a lot to us, it was an agreement that we made with the President of the Court, with the Attorney General and with whom he is informing them, to act in jointly because, if not, we were not going to be able to,” he said.
In a radio interview, the lawyer Alejandro Robledo insisted that from the beginning, his clients denied having participated in the disappearance of the normalista students and even the WhatsApp conversation with an alleged leader of a criminal gang was in doubt.
“As a defense we always said that these messages were false, they were fabricated, we do not know by whom, they have no evidentiary value, they do not have a chain of custody, they do not have a denomination of origin and the intervention of a judge for these telephone interventions,” he said.
The litigant stressed that in a criminal proceeding, all the accusations must be argued and proven before the judicial authority, so they estimate that at this point, there will be good results in favor of the military.
