From August 11 to 21, a team made up of 16 softball players will carry out a training base in the cities of Bogotá and Sincelejo, Colombia. There they will be able to train and make several caps with Colombian clubs and even with the national team.

The ten athletes who are contracted in that country stand out on the payroll: catcher Maidelis Reyes (GTM), infielders Yilian Rondón (GRM), Liannelis Zayas (GRM), Yiliet Medina (VCL), Anaamalia González (SSP), outfielder Elizabet Robert (GTM) and pitchers Zaray Góngora (HOL), Lizania Meléndez (SCU), Ananyelis Chávez (VCL) and Marlen Bubaire (GTM).

The team is completed by six other players who will travel to Colombia on the 10th: Yanisleidys Casanova (GRM), Martha Torres (SSP) and Yoannet Domínguez (SCU), infielders. There are also Lisaidis Samón (GTM), Yusmely Rodríguez (PRI), Dailyn Friol (LHA) in the outfield.

The manager of the Cuban team said that this preparation in Colombian territory will be very positive to arrive with more international flair for the Pan American Championship, scheduled for November 12-19 in Guatemala.

Despite the fact that Cuba will not have its two main pitchers in this preparation on Colombian soil, Anisley López and Yilián Tornés, the fundamental weapon of this team continues to be pitching.

The Cubans will have very difficult rivals in the Pan American Softball: Canada, the United States, Puerto Rico, Mexico and the Dominican Republic.
