The PCB candidate for the Presidency of the Republic, Sofia Manzano, signed this Monday (12) the letter of commitment with artisanal fisherwomen, in Recife. The document has five pages, with proposals from the fisherwomen to guide the structuring of a policy for the fishing sector. The actions are aimed at the government of Pernambuco and aim, among other things, “the development of public policies for the recognition, visibility and strengthening of women’s work in the fishing production chain”.
The letter also proposes the promotion of a state strategy for monitoring the production of fisherwomen in the state of Pernambuco and foresees the inclusion of fish from artisanal fishing in the food of schools and educational institutions of traditional communities, through the purchase of production by the government of Pernambuco.
At another point, the document suggests the creation of a fund for the implementation of adaptation and mitigation actions to climate change in fishing territories. It also proposes the permanent monitoring of the water quality of the rivers in the state of Pernambuco.
The proposal was elaborated at the Meeting of Fishermen, held in Tamandaré, in August, in a joint action by the National Articulation of Fishermen (ANP), in partnership with the Pastoral Council of Fishermen (CPP), the Curumim group and SOS Corpo.
Through Twitter, the candidate also defended the national floor of nurses.
The candidate proposed the nationalization of hospitals and laboratories financed by public resources, and defended the readjustment of the table of the Unified Health System (SUS), to guarantee resources for the nursing floor.
“End of the Fiscal Responsibility Law, make public contests and increase the salaries of nursing professionals. The floor is a priority for the category that saves lives. We will implement a maximum working day of 30 hours per week, and an adequate rest place”, said the candidate.
