The PCB candidate for the Presidency of the Republic, Sofia Manzano, defended on social media today (23) a “profound structural” reform of the Judiciary and the Public Ministry, in order to give transparency to their activities, as well as to prevent them from serving as “prosecutors”. instrument” of protecting the rich and punishing the poor.
“The Brazilian Judiciary has been, over time, an instrument of the ruling classes to punish the poor and protect the rich,” Sofia Manzano wrote on Twitter. “To reverse this situation, we propose a profound structural reform of the entire Brazilian Judiciary (which necessarily includes the Public Ministry), both in terms of legislation and social control,” she added.
Sofia defended “transparency on the activity of Justice and, especially, that judges appointed to regional and higher courts have a fixed term under social control, that is: eligible and revocable by popular power in their respective jurisdiction”.
In the same social network, she reaffirmed her commitment to increasing public investment in the federal network of professional, scientific and technological education and to the comprehensive training of working class youth, “based on work, research and extension as principles educational”.
