Socorro Sosa or Judith Lemos are the names used for Mides in Cerro Largo

Frente Amplio evaluates candidates for the leadership of Mides in Cerro Largo.

The Frente Amplio manages two candidates to lead the Ministry of Social Development (Mides) in Cerro Largo.

They are teacher Socorro Sosa, former departmental inspector of initial and primary education, and psychologist Judith Lemos, president of the Association of Psychologists of Uruguay.

Both professionals, who were candidates for deputies for different sectors of the Frente Amplio, have outstanding careers and experience in their areas.

The political force seeks to guarantee the best profile to lead ministerial institutions in the department.

Daniel Aquino said that these two names are excellent “colleagues,” but that he has not participated in these negotiations.

The Frente Amplio defines its campaign strategy in Cerro Largo

The Frente Amplio continues to adjust the details to develop its campaign for the coming months. Daniel Aquino, departmental leader and one of the three candidates for Mayor, will hold a meeting today to plan the tasks to be carried out. According to him, he works with confidence together with figures such as Lizeth Ruiz and Rafael Riverowho are also candidates for May.

On January 21, the Frente Amplio will resume its usual activities with the reopening of the Departmental Board, which will be attended by Luciano Núñez, who replaces Daniel Aquino himself as president of the board.

Among the activities highlighted on the calendar is the celebration of the 54th anniversary of the Frente Amplio, which will take place on February 5. In addition, on February 8, a special event will be held in La Paloma, Rocha, and the Departmental Convention will soon be held, in which the resolutions taken at the Departmental Plenary last year will be notified.

With these steps, the Frente Amplio advances in the organization of its campaign, consolidating its strategy and defining the next challenges in the political sphere.

Aquinas Opinion; “JOSÉ YURRAMENDI SEEKS TO UNITE SECTORS TO STRENGTHEN HIS CANDIDACY”

Looking at the opposite side, the candidate for Mayor for the Frente Amplio Daniel Aquino said that “the Mayor of Cerro Largo, José Yurramendi, would be actively working to unify the sectors that participated in the internal past from different spaces, with the objective to strengthen his candidacy in the next elections.”

This was expressed by Daniel Aquino, who highlighted that Yurramendi intends to integrate groups such as lists 19 and 55, granting them positions of trust.

“The mayor is seeking to add all those sectors that were not part of his group in the previous elections, but rather belonged to other conglomerates, to integrate them and give them responsibilities. “This seeks to consolidate its position in what is expected to be tough competition.”Aquino commented.

In this context, he also referred to the probable resignation of Yurramendi to dedicate himself to the campaign, which would imply the assumption of the position of mayor by Fernando Gamarra. “Everything seems to indicate that these decisions were part of previous conversations, and Gamarra could count on the support of Yurramendi from another role, perhaps again in the Works Department,” he added.

The strategy aims to strengthen the political base of the current mayor in an electoral scenario that promises to be competitive and challenging.
