“Society will be transformed with determined investment in education”

For the pre-candidate for the presidency of the Republic for the Patria Querida Party, Sebastián Villarejo, the transformation of Paraguay will depend on commitment and responsibility when developing comprehensive public policies for investment in education and, above all, the fight against corruption.

“It is the State, with its public policies, that will be able to generate quantitative changes that help improve the country. To do so, you need honest and determined people »he highlighted.

A government administration must be marked by values such as honesty, commented the member of the Coalition.

“Public management must be honest, with a determined fight against corruption. In addition, the administration has to be efficient. Uselessness is also a form of corruption. An official must be effective when it comes to managing public money », he stated.

Another of the fundamental precepts of the presidential administration is patriotism, added Villarejo.

“When a country is governed, love of the country must be the guide of the role of the president. It is necessary to put Paraguay in the first place, the general interests over the particular ones », he stressed.

LEGACY
From a young age, the current deputy was involved in activities that could generate social change. This concern prompted Villarejo to integrate from the student center of Colegio San José to religious groups to mission.

In these expeditions, the deputy visited various companies, in “the depths of Paraguay.”

From these tours, he was able to reflect on the fact that getting involved in politics is the “only way to generate transformations that achieve the well-being of the population,” said the pre-candidate for President of the Republic.

“One can contribute from organizations that help, but it is the State that is really going to be able to generate these quantitative transformations,” he pointed out.

His candidacy for the presidency of the Republic was conceived in the pandemic, the deputy said.

“During the pandemic, with a group of parliamentarians, we were able to experience corruption, when miserable people reached into public funds at the hardest time the country experienced. So there was this strong commitment to engage a new generation, kick the board and make radical changes in a strong and determined way, “he said.

Among his main objectives, Villarejo highlighted that he will seek to leave as a legacy the fight against corruption and investment in education.

“I am going to be a president obsessed with education. The best way to transform society is with a determined investment in education. This investment is not seen, that is why governments do not prioritize it, but it is essential to invest in human capital, in our young people and children », he explained.

The deputy analyzed that the next presidential elections will be essential to change the course of the country. In this sense, he highlighted the role of young people in the transformation of Paraguay’s leadership.

“We have to call young people to get involved. Today Paraguay needs all its citizens, especially the young. We need them to decide and enter the field. Today the clarion call of the battle does not call us to arms, but to social commitment », he concluded.
