The Social Policy Cabinet Opened five new training centerstechnical-professional of the program “Chance 14-24” in Hato Mayor.
With the centers open last weekend in the community technology centers of the main municipality and in the municipal districts of Mata Palacio, Yerba Buena and Guayabo Dulce, as well as in the Vocational School of the Armed Forces and the National Police, the Cabinet of Social Policy sum 39 centers of the “Opportunity 14-24” initiative in 10 provinces, benefiting thousands of young people throughout the national territory. These have the comprehensive care of more than 20 government institutions of President Luis Abinader.
In total, they are more than 300 youthonly in Hato Mayor, who will benefit from the technical careers that are taught in the initiative.
The coordinator of the Social Policy Cabinet, TTony Peña insisted that the initiative seeks to keep young people between the ages of 14 and 24 away from delinquency, offering them study and work opportunities.
“For us it is unacceptable that our young people do not have access to development opportunities and improve their quality of life. We are one of the countries with the highest rates of youth unemployment in the region, but thanks to initiatives such as “Opportunity 14-24” that panorama is changing”, she added.
On his side, the executive director of the program, Alex Mordán, urged the participants to change their way of thinking and commit to change in their lives through the opportunity offered by the Social Policy Cabinet.
“Take advantage of this program to become promoters of the change of life of many others who, like you, seek to have access to greater opportunities. You are the ones in charge of showing that you can believe in the future of the country,” said Mordán.
Likewise, the directors of the Vocational School and the Technological Centers valued as positive the initiative that currently benefits thousands of young people throughout the country and seeks to reach thousands more in the next two years, with the opening of hundreds of training centers in the entire national territory.
