Social organizations and solidarity groups pro-Palestinians, Afro-descendants, Latin Americans and Belgians held a rally in Luxembourg Square in Brussels, Belgium, in front of the headquarters of the European Parliament, to express their support for the re-election of President Nicolás Maduro, condemn fascism and advocate for peace in Venezuela.
According to information from the Venezuelan Mission to the European Union (EU), the protesters reaffirmed that the Bolivarian Revolution is an example of dignity and exercise of sovereignty in the world.
Foreign Minister Yván Gil thanked the solidarity of these groups that expressed their support for the Bolivarian Revolution. “Solidarity will always be the main tool of the people. Today, various solidarity movements in Brussels gathered in Luxembourg Square, in front of the European Parliament, to express their support for the Bolivarian Revolution,” he wrote on social media.
Ambassador Jorge Valero, Head of the Venezuelan Mission to the EU, extended his gratitude to the organisations on behalf of President Nicolás Maduro and the Venezuelan people.
“In Venezuela, anti-imperialist, anti-capitalist and anti-fascist policies have triumphed (…) in the face of terrorism, peace prevails,” he said, condemning the electrical sabotage promoted by sectors of the Venezuelan far right.
Just as in Brussels, social organizations, heads of state and political movements have expressed their support for the Bolivarian Revolution and the people of Venezuela following the elections of July 28, in which Venezuelans re-elected President Nicolás Maduro.
