The Clasista and Combative Current (CCC), the Evita Movement and the Barrios de Pie group carried out a “banderazo” today in squares and different parts of the country to spread the Unexpected Income bill that was presented by the Executive Power in Congress , with the purpose of “installing a debate in society” that favors the approval of this initiative.

“On the eve of this emblematic date of Flag Day, the idea was to start a debate process,” said the national coordinator of Barrios de Pie, Daniel Menéndez, in statements to Télam and maintained that “we deliver dissemination materials that explain the meaning of the Unexpected Income”.

In this framework, he explained that it was “the initial kick to put the discussion on the street” and specified that the dissemination activities and the collection of signatures were carried out in squares and different parts of the country.

The central activity took place in the Obelisk of the city of Buenos Aireswhere the president of the Frente de Todos block in the Buenos Aires legislature Claudio Ferreño, the legislator Laura Velasco, the coordinator of Barrios de Pie de Ciudad de Buenos Aires Walter Córdoba, the coordinator of CCC Diego Lualdi, and the Evita Movement were present , Nahuel Casademunt.

Meanwhile, in the suburbs of Buenos Aires they were concentrated in the Plaza Alsina de Avellaneda and in the San Justo shopping center, in the La Matanza district, with local references.

Menéndez highlighted the call in which he participated from Santiago del Estero and anticipated that they are preparing a broad mobilization that will attend Plaza de los Dos Congresos when this project is debated in Parliament.

“This income allows us to strengthen the income of the State to address the social situations that seem important to us. We must move forward with the discussion,” he stressed.

Under the slogan “Yes to the law that captures the Unexpected Income. Let’s pay the internal debt”, the details of the project promoted by the Executive were released.

“Why is it so important to approve the Law that captures unexpected profits? The war in Ukraine meant that certain companies, without having increased investment or productivity, are benefiting extraordinarily from such a dramatic situation”holds one of the flyers distributed by the organizations that declare themselves in favor of the principles of “Land, Roof and Work” proposed by Pope Francis.

“This time, instead of benefiting a few, we need to do something different and build measures that reduce the Internal Debt, equivalent to the social inequalities that grow with each new crisis but benefit those who have the most,” they affirmed.

Likewise, they pointed out in the flyers that “To guarantee the beginning of this new path of hope, the popular movements unite under the slogan ‘Argentina From Below’ to promote measures that make our country grow and reverse the inequalities.”
