Social organizations denounce blockages of their telephone lines prior to the marches

A few hours after the beginning of the Mobilizations against the Government of Dina Boluarte and Congressvarious civil society organizations have denounced the blockade of their telephone lines. Both Coraly Escobar, leader of the Student Federation of the PUCP (FEPUC), and Milagros Samillán, representatives of the Association of Family members of the victims killed in Juliaca, told the Republic that, since yesterday they cannot make calls.

“I can’t answer calls because my team blocked me since yesterday, it may be a way of scary from the government for today’s march,” said Samillán, sister of Marco Antonio Samillán, who lost his life on January 9, 2023 as a result of police repression in Juliaca.

In the same way, Coraly Escobar corroborated to face the same situation and shared her strangeness. As recalled, the march of this Saturday, September 20 has been convened by Gene generationa youth movement that uses symbols of rebellion and that raises its voice of protest against the pension reform gestated by Congress, corruption and citizen insecurity that champions our country.

What other organizations will join the youth march?

To the mobilization other groups will be added such as “Young leaders for Peru” and “Keikonova”as well as union unions, of contributors and carriers. For example, from the CGTP they consider that the Pension Modernization Law backed by the Congress, the Executive and the Economic Power Groups must repeal.

“The regulation of this reform is nothing more than the operational application of a law that promoted by Fujimorism and supported by right -wing and government, favoring business interests, at the expense of the future of contributors. Consequently, the only real exit is their repeal”; The union center indicated.

Similarly, the collective Citizen voice made clear that the Citizen march It seeks to stop the abuses committed by Congress and injustice that affects the population. In that sense, they invoked all Peruvians to join this cause and recommended to the shops to suspend their activities, in order to avoid affectations to their businesses.

Another sector that will participate in the mobilization are carriers. According to Julio Campos, vice president of the National Alliance of Transporters, this type of conference reflect the general discomfort against the inefficiency of the Government to face citizen insecurity and ensure better functioning of the pension system.

“We add and support this march against the Government and the mafias that are installed in it. It is fair and necessary for all days to be in favor of the people to recover our sovereignty and the dignity that we have lost citizens,” he noted.

What time will the youth march be and where?

According to the call disseminated on social networks, the central concentration will be in the San Martín square at 5:00 pm. From said emblematic place, the protesters will meet and then try to reach the front of the Congress. In the case of Arequipa, the meeting point will be at the engineering door of the San Agustín de Arequipa University (UNSA).
