Social networks were filled with greetings to Pope Francis

Political leaders from different sectors greeted Pope Francis this Sunday through social networks, on the 9th anniversary of his election as Supreme Pontiff and head of the Catholic Church.

Ministers, mayors, legislators and various leaders sent their recognition to Jorge Bergoglio, former Archbishop of the City of Buenos Aires.

“Today marks 9 years since the election of the Pope, we want to greet him, recognize him and embrace him in his permanent struggle for peace and social justice in the world,” the Minister of Education wrote on Twitter, Jaime Perczyk.

Also the Minister of Community Development of the province of Buenos Aires and General Secretary of La Cámpora, Andres “Crow” Larroqueremembered him on his networks, with a single “9 years” and a heart emoji.

Meanwhile, the mayor of Esteban Echeverría, Fernando Grayposted a banner recalling March 13 as the day “the Archbishop of Buenos Aires becomes Pope Francis.”

He accompanied it with a text that states: “For nine years Pope Francis, through his work and his word, enlightens and guides millions of people. Since that March 13, 2013, when the white smoke consecrated him as Supreme Pontiff, is an example of humility and world service, and pride of the Argentines”.

Meanwhile, his peer from Berazategui, Juan José Mussi joined the congratulations: “It is 9 years since the pontificate of our Pope Francis. It really is a pride for all Argentines that a compatriot is at the head of the Catholic Church with so much commitment, humility and leadership,” he remarked.

In the same sense, the national deputies manifested themselves Sergio Casas and Julio Pereyraof the Front of All (FdT), among others.

“Today marks the 9th anniversary of the election of Pope Francis. Let us pray for the Holy Father and value his call for peace, as an inalienable commitment,” Casas published, adding that “his example of unity, vocation for service, brotherhood and love of neighbor inspire us day by day”.

Meanwhile, for Pereyra, “for nine years the Pope has guided us with his characteristic humility and good sense along a path of encounter, dialogue and tolerance”, for which he advocated that “this example enlighten us for much longer to continue building a country with more social justice”.

Earlier, the Argentine Foreign Ministry he had greeted the Pope in a message where he stressed that his “appeal for peace is an inalienable commitment”.

Nine years after the election of Jorge Mario Bergoglio as Pope Francis, his pontificate appears today dedicated to structural reforms of the curia and presents a horizon of travel and proposals such as the situation of migrants and refugees, the call for world peace and the concern for those discarded from society, while continuing his claim that humanity “come out better” from the coronavirus pandemic.

Having turned 85 on December 17, Francis begins what will be the tenth year of his pontificate with a schedule for 2022 that includes, among other topics, his first visit to Oceania and the promulgation of a new Constitution for the curia, in the one who works since his enthronement.
