Around the world, voices are joining together to support the President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, from social organizations in Namibia, Guinea Guisau, Russia, South Korea, Ecuador, Egypt, Colombia, Germany, Japan and Dominica and other countries around the world.
In Namibia, the Central Committee of the Swapo Youth League has shown its solidarity in the face of outside interference.
The people of Mali mobilized in solidarity with Venezuela on the International Day of Action in defense of democracy and popular sovereignty. Under the slogan Hand Off Venezuela, hundreds of social movements, peasant movements, unions and political organizations from around the world expressed their solidarity with the people of Venezuela.
Similarly, activists in Seoul, South Korea, protested outside the US Embassy to denounce attempts by US imperialism to intervene against the democracy and sovereignty of the Venezuelan people, who elected Nicolás Maduro as their president.
Previously, the ALBA Movements platform called on progressive and revolutionary forces involved in the anti-imperialist struggle to actively protect Venezuela in the midst of the coup attempt. Today they are going after Venezuela, while tomorrow they will go after other peoples.
They stress that any revolutionary initiative should prioritize respect for the sovereignty and self-determination of peoples. Even in the midst of reactionary external pressure, which always seeks to ignore it, it must become a political banner in international relations, said one of the members of ALBA Movements.
