The MTOP will prioritize small towns and organizations with fewer resources
The Minister of Transportation and Public Works, Lucía Etcheverry, announced an increase in the budget allocated to the Social Agreements program, which allows social institutions to repair and expand their facilities. In this management, priority will be given to those who work on childhood issues, promote coexistence or encourage permanence in rural areas.
Lucía Etcheverry attended, in Ciudad del Carmen, department of Durazno, the inauguration of works carried out through the Social Agreements program at the headquarters of the Carmen Labor League.
The head of the Ministry of Transportation and Public Works (MTOP) highlighted the importance of the tool that allows social institutions to obtain resources and technical advice to repair or expand their facilities. Likewise, he valued its continuity for almost 40 years.
In this period of government, the budget allocated to the aforementioned initiative will be strengthened and priority will be given to small towns and organizations with fewer resources, through a more equitable territorial distribution, as well as those that work with children and adolescents, in areas such as health, education, sports and recreation, the minister assured.
He also valued the coordination with mayors and municipalities to support institutions that provide community services.
In addition, the Social Agreements program will support institutions that promote coexistence and community security or promote family production, innovation and permanence in rural areas.
