Mexican soccer will not stop. This has been confirmed by the President of Liga MX, Mikel Arriola, despite the terrible events that occurred in the clash between Querétaro and Atlas this weekend.
The fans of both teams clashed during the game, unleashing barbarism and violence in what is one of the blackest days in the history of Mexican soccer. Even so, Arriola is committed to continuing the competition normally and applying sanctions without this affecting the calendar.

“Yes, there will be (Matchday 10). We solve this problem in sanctions and in the security reinforcement measures and we continue with our days, with our matches, with all the emphasis on security. Ask people to trust football and let’s move on,” said the league president.
Arriola also assured that “the measures are going to be extraordinary and exemplary. We are very interested in knowing why this private security was in charge of the security of the field, because it did not act, that seems very serious to me. The omissions have to be ruled”.
“As soccer we have to resolve this week, first sanctions and then measures. We have to eliminate the bars, if they are animation groups that are credentialed as we are with the National Team,” he added.
This Wednesday, March 9, the Liga MX owners’ meeting will be held, where the sanctions for the two affected teams will be determined.
If the schedule continues, Querétaro will visit Nexaca on Friday (early Saturday morning Spanish time), while Atlas will do the same against Juárez.
