Santo Domingo.– He National Health Service (SNS) reported that the hospitals and centers of the Public Health Services Network are properly prepared to deal with medical emergencies during the festivities of Christmas Eve and Christmas 2025as part of the national operation “Consciousness for Life”.
The director of the SNS, Mario Lamaexplained that they have arranged strategic measures to strengthen hospital response capacitygiven the increase in demand for care that usually occurs during this festive period. The operation begins this Tuesday, December 23, 2025, starting at 2:00 p.m..
Hospitals with emergency services active 24 hours a day
Among the main provisions, the regional and hospital addresses to ensure continuous coverage of 24 hour emergency servicesas well as the activation of Emergency and Disaster plans and committeeshe high care demand plan and the methanol poisoning response plan.
The director of Hospital Centers of the SNS, Jocasta Laraindicated that the prevention and health preparationby installing situation rooms in Regional Health Servicesensuring a timely and adequate medical assistance throughout the national territory.
They strengthen epidemiological surveillance during the festivities
Likewise, the strengthening of the epidemiological notification and surveillance through the platform SITREPwith timely reporting of events such as alcohol poisoning in adults and minors, food poisoning, traffic accidents and associated deathswith the aim of facilitating risk assessment and decision making.
Lara also explained that hospitals were instructed to guarantee the availability of medicines and medical supplieshe water and fuel supplyhe correct operation of power plantsthe permanent security in emergency areas and the adequate cleaning of care spaces.
The director of SNS Hospitals reiterated that all emergency and emergency services will be available 24 hours a day during the operation, while urging the population to make responsible use of these servicescontributing to a more efficient response of the health system.
