Santo Domingo- The National Health Service (SNS) signed three important inter-institutional cooperation agreements to strengthen various components of the public network and optimize the quality of the care offered to the population.
The agreements were established with the National Disability Council (CONADIS), the Dominican Accreditation Agency (ODAC) and the Ibero -American University (UNIBE).
The director of the SNS, Dr. Mario Lama, stressed the importance of these rubrics as part of a comprehensive strategy of continuous improvement and articulation with other sectors of the State and specialized institutions.
“With these agreements we build a more robust health system, where quality, equity and innovation become fundamental pillars to better serve our people,” said Dr. Lama.
With this initiative, the SNS reaffirms its commitment to a quality public network, accessible and oriented to the real needs of the population.
The agreements
The agreement signed by the director of the SNS, Mario Lama and the president of the National Council of Disability (CONADIS), Benny Metz, seeks to implement the National System of Assessment, Certification and Registration of Disability (SNVCRD) in the towns of Santo Domingo Este, Santiago and Azua, in a first phase, and then cover all national territory.
Among the commitments assumed by the SNS is to provide physical spaces in the clinical and diagnostic centers of the public network, in addition to guaranteeing the necessary human resources, including administrative staff, family medicine professionals and occupational therapists or psychologists, who contribute to the implementation of the National System of Valuation, Certification and Registration of Disability.
On the other hand, the CONADIS undertakes to train the personnel assigned to the valuation units, in addition to offering the service and issuance of certification to people with disabilities and monitoring the required request to the application processes.
ODAC
The agreement with the Dominican Accreditation Agency (ODAC), which was signed by Ángel David Taveras, Executive Director of ODAC, aims to strengthen the quality of health services in the country, through the implementation of globally recognized standards for clinical laboratories and images, thus improving the precision, reliability and safety of the results that patients receive.
By virtue of the agreement, the ODAC undertakes to offer technical accompaniment, specialized advice and training days to the SNS personnel, while the SNS will identify and prioritize laboratories to be accredited, in addition to guaranteeing the necessary resources for compliance with the requirements established by the standard.
The accreditation in the international standard that establishes the quality and competence requirements for the medical laboratories ISO/IEC 15189, will begin in pediatric hospitals Hugo Mendoza, Robert Reid Reid Cabral; The Maternities Reynaldo Almánzar and Our Lady of Altagracia; in the Ney Arias Lora and Marcelino Vélez Santana.
UNIBE
Meanwhile, the agreement with the Ibero -American University (UNIBE) was signed by Odile Camilo Vincent, rector of the University, aims In addition to evaluating and monitoring the strategies and programs implemented.
The SNS undertakes to select the related profiles for each call or project presented, identify an interlocutor or representative for the communication and representation of the SNS within the framework of the agreement. Participate in the methodological design of the research proposal and the analysis of data that arise from these.
While Unibe undertakes to integrate SNS researchers for joint proposals, who will share the responsibilities for the execution of the project and co -authorship of these in the scientific communications that result from the project, among others.
