A total of 423,000 vehicles entered Bogotá on this holiday Monday, at the end of the Reyes Bridge, in what was described as a successful registration as it was the premiere of the regional ‘peak and plate’. This was reported on Tuesday by the District Mayor’s Office and the Mobility Secretariat.

“Getting organized is worth it: the civic culture in road mobility is worth it, and our Metropolitan Region is worth it”, Highlighted the president of the capital Claudia López.
The organized mobility that took place in the different admissions to Bogotá guaranteed that there were no fatalities and that traffic accidents were reduced by 20%. The number of vehicles that entered the capital in 2022 exceeded the same period in 2018 and 2019 by 9%.

It also increased the average entry speed to 40 kilometers per hour.
During the day, 1,038 appearances were imposed.
Likewise, the president recalled that as of this Tuesday the new ‘peak and plate’ began all day in Bogotá.
“The Bogota citizens are going to organize ourselves to share the same vehicle. Shared mobility will allow us less accidents, zero fatalities, greater speed and better mobility”, Highlighted Mayor López.

The president invited Bogota citizens to organize as a family, with neighbors, colleagues or study, and share the vehicle.
“We need the occupation of the vehicles to go from 1 to 3. It is a matter of organizing fixed trips to study or work. Starting in 2022, we have to change the bitterness generated by the traffic jam for intelligent mobility, in addition, we will have more than 500 work fronts for pedestrians, cyclists and vehicles, which requires us to organize ourselves”He added.
From the Ministry of Mobility they commented that the era of Shared mobility and Smart mobility establishes four measures of civic culture:
one. Shared car: 3 or more people in a car do not have a license plate.
two. Peak payment and solidarity plate to have no restriction.
3. Use public transport, which has a clean and recovered fleet, walk or use a bicycle.
Four. Modify schedules: changes of entry and exit hours in companies.
