The president of Banco do Brasil (BB), Fausto Ribeiro, said today (12) that the institution intends to take not only credit, but knowledge to the interior of the country. “The large rural producer has all the technological tools at his disposal, including a resident agronomist, while the small producer really needs a little more support”.
In an interview with the program national reportertransmitted by National Radio and for TV Brazil, Ribeiro recalled that the bank will allocate BRL 200 billion to the 2022/2023 Crop Plan – an amount 48% higher than the BRL 135 billion announced in the previous harvest. The proposal, according to him, is to offer financial support so that the small producer can produce more and better, generating employment and income”.
Another initiative mentioned by the president of BB is the launch of the so-called Carretas Agro. In all, five trucks are currently traveling the country offering credit and also knowledge, through partnerships with the National Rural Learning Service (Senar) and the Brazilian Agricultural Research Corporation (Embrapa).
Broto Platform
Ribeiro also commented on the Broto Platform, a digital environment whose task is to connect rural producers, service providers, resellers and suppliers. According to the bank, there are more than 740 thousand accesses and R$ 1.6 billion in transactions carried out.
“When we talk about Brazilian agribusiness, we are talking about a large ecosystem. Sellers of manure, fertilizers, animal feed, agricultural machinery and equipment. The idea is to try to put on a single platform a hubby solutions for Brazilian agribusiness”, he highlighted.
