A small plane crashed this Saturday (9) in the Lençóis Maranhenses National Park, in the municipality of Santo Amaro do Maranhão, and left two dead. The 43 -year -old pilot Victor Manoel Britto died in the disaster and the passenger, the 23 -year -old veterinarian Bruna Emanoely, a native of Santa Inês (MA).
The aircraft, from the Super Petrel LS Amphibian model, had been manufactured in 2012 and belonged to state deputy Francisco Nagib Buzar de Oliveira (PSB). According to the National Civil Aviation Agency (Anac), the plane was in a regular situation.
Yesterday late afternoon, the aircraft was given as missing. During the dawn, the Fire Department located the wreckage and the two bodies near the Lagoa das Pedras, in the middle of the Dunes of the Maranhenses Lençóis.
In a post on social networks, the state deputy regretted the accident and provided solidarity to the families of the victims, especially of the pilot, of whom he was a friend.
“I manifest my deepest feeling of grief to the victims’ families, especially the Britto family, for the irreparable loss of his son, Victor Manoel Britto. Manoel was a very close friend that aviation gave me. A young man full of passionate, with so many dreams ahead. His early departure leaves us a huge void and a difficult pain to express in words.”
The causes of the accident are being investigated. The bodies arrived at the São Luís Forensic Medical Institute still at dawn and await release.
