The Ministry of Interior and Police A three-day operation to close businesses ends tomorrow, in which they seized slot machines and arrested dozens of people who were breaking the law.
The results of the joint operation will be announced on Monday at the Citizen Security Roundtable held by the Government at the Police headquarters, the institution reported.
He said that authorities intervened in several provinces of the country, raiding businesses and arresting citizens who violated the laws, affecting security and social tranquility.
The joint task force, made up of members of the Public Prosecutor’s Office, the Police, the Ministry of Defense (MIDE) and the National Directorate of Drug Control (DNCD), inspected night businesses, including grocery stores, bars and liquor stores.
He added that in these establishments he found the presence of minors, slot machines, loud music and illegal occupation of public spaces.
He stated that the simultaneous operations, ordered by President Luis Abinader and launched by Minister Faride Raful, were carried out in the National District, the province of Santo Domingo, the province of Duarte, Monseñor Nouel and Hato Mayor, accompanied by prosecutors who notified the owners or representatives of the businesses about the decisions taken.
Another operation
The Ministry of the Interior and Police launched a joint intervention operation to maintain security and social tranquility and reduce crime, petty theft and other crimes in five sectors of the National District.
Operation Peace Guarantee is a joint effort involving the Public Prosecutor’s Office, the National Police, the Ministry of Defense (MIDE), the Air Force and Navy, the Army of the Dominican Republic, the Metropolitan Joint Command, the National Drug Control Directorate (DNCD), the Central Prevention Directorate, and the Central Investigation and Intelligence Directorates of the National Police.
The operation, which began on Friday, continued until 3 p.m. yesterday and focused on the areas of Villa Francisca, Villas Agrícolas, Villa Consuelo, Villa Juana, Ensanche la Fe and Cristo Rey.
The actions were especially focused on places where alcoholic beverages are sold, such as drinks bars, nightclubs, grocery stores and public spaces, which are causing concern among residents of these neighborhoods.
At the launching ceremony of the joint intervention, held on the esplanade in front of the Police Palace, the Minister of Interior and Police, Faride Raful, explained that the operation was carried out taking into account the heat map that reveals indicators of the disturbance of peace and citizen security.

He said that thanks to the will of President Luis Abinader and the support of the mixed forces and other institutions, this joint action has been organized. He reiterated his call for prudence and for people to know that where laws and order are not applied, there is anarchy.
