Fedevelopment reported that the Consumer Confidence Index (CCI) recorded a slight increase in April.
According to data from the study center, in the fourth month of the year the data was -17.5%, 0.3 percentage points (pps) more compared to the previous month (-17.8%).

This result, according to the entity, is explained by an increase of 0.8 pps in the Consumer Expectations Index and a drop of 0.3 pps in the Index of Economic Conditions.
In the case of the first, it went from -8.2%, in March, to -7.4%, in April; while the second went from -32.3%, in the third month of the year, to -32.6%, in the fourth.
In April, the ICC increased only in the low socioeconomic level, while it decreased in the high and medium with respect to the previous month. In turn, consumer confidence increased in three of the five cities surveyed compared to last month.
In relation to March, the willingness to buy durable goods decreased, going from -39.4% to -41.7%, as well as the mood to buy housing, since in March it stood at -16.2% and for April it reached -22.6%.

In the case of vehicle purchase, in the third month of 2022 it was -58.9%, while for the following month it was -59.3%, decreasing the provision.
“When comparing the results of the first month of the second quarter of 2022 with those of the first quarter, a decrease in the consumers’ assessment of the country’s situation and the situation of their households is observed, while there is an increase in this on the willingness of consumers to buy durable goods“, said.
