The foregoing was evidenced in the new report of the Communications Regulation Commission (CRC) on television by subscription in Colombia and penetration in the first half.
Among the main findings, it was highlighted that the number of subscribers presented a growth of 4.1%, going from 6.05 million users in June 2021 to 6.3 million subscribers in June 2022. Likewise, the report pointed out that penetration in homes was 36.52% during the first half of the year.
It should be noted that compared to the penetration of the last semester of 2021, which was 36.54%, it remained stable.
Compared to the cities that presented a greater number of subscribers as of June 2022 and that added 43.21% of the total users in the country, they stood out in this order: Bogota, Cali, Medellin and Barranquilla.
At the departmental level, Bogotá, as a special district, registered a penetration of 51.56% of connected homes to the subscription television service. For its part, Antioquia reported a household penetration of 51.46%, followed by Risaralda and Quindío with 49.84% and 46.90%, respectively.

Now, the report also presented the average monthly revenue per subscriber, which had a decrease of 4.45%, going from $47,146 in the month of June 2021 to $45,046 in the same month of 2022.

Finally, the most used technology for the second quarter of 2022, according to the report, was HFC Digital (hybrid fiber coaxial) with 4 million subscribers (63.81%), followed by satellite technology with 1.2 million subscribers.
