When giving the starting signal for the Day of the Dead parade, the head of Government, Clara Brugada, stated that at the national level, this celebration is considered cultural heritage, which is why she considered it important to maintain customs.
He said that this parade aims not only to give a sample of Mexican traditions, but also of the cultural wealth of the entire country to national and foreign tourists.

The 2024 Day of the Dead parade is dedicated to the writer Rosario Castellanos and the muralist David Alfaro Siqueirosboth 50 years after his death, as well as the singer Fight Kingson his 80th death anniversary.
More than 6,000 artists participate in the Day of the Dead Parade distributed in 37 contingents who advance along Paseo de la Reforma from the Puerta de los Leones in Chapultepec, to Juárez Avenue, Eje Central Lázaro Cárdenas, May 5 and will culminate in the Zócalo capital where the monumental offering is installed.
